Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan said he has changed himself from a reserved person attitude to more open. He attributed the credit to his wife and filmmaker Kiran Rao.
Aamir spoke in a press conference on Tuesday, that,"Really my wife KiranRao changed me.Transformation has happened, i feel it is because of Kiran ji. Her influence on me is very high. Her energy is bright. So, a change has come in me as well".
His character in 'PK', which has been kept secret for quite sometime now, Aamir, 49, said his character in the film is “innocent and a bit strange", who speaks Bhojpuri.
“PK movie is not a satire. It's a drama. The vehicle of narration is humour,” he added.
In a reply to a question from one media person, Aamir said that the almost nude pose with a transistor, was about capturing a key moment or essence of the story.
“Many people liked it. Some people felt that clothes were not worn. It is a natural reaction. But we have to be truthful with the story. When we show the first poster, it is important that it captures the film, its essence,” he said.
He assured that ‘PK’ is a universal film that can be watched by all.
About the issue of lack of unity among filmmakers in Bollywood, he said it is unfortunate that filmmakers have not been able to work as a unit.A community, it remains together, benefits all. Hopefully, we will work towards that.
Replying to a query, he disapproved tendency of some quarters of inflating box-office figures of a film.
“I think we should stop thinking about figures. Because if a creative person does a film keeping figures in mind, then the choice of films becomes narrow. A creative person should never think of numbers,” he said.
Producer of ‘PK’, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who had earlier teamed with Aamir in ‘3-Idiots’, said that his company shares independent box office collections openly.
On the new trend of remaking south Indian films, Bollywood’s ‘perfectionist’ said filmmakers from Telugu,Tamil and Malayalam film industries are impacting with some “unusual stuff”.
He praised popular Telugu director S S Rajamouli, who directed ‘Magadheera’, ‘Maryada Ramanna’ and ‘Eega’ (‘Makkhi’ in Hindi), as a very talented director and said he look forward to work with him, if there is an opportunity.
‘PK’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Starred by Aamir,Sanjay Dutt, Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput shall come to theatres on December 19.
