Kriti Sanon may play the lead female role in an upcoming film based on Chetan Bhagat's next novel 'Half Girlfriend'. Ever since the 'Two States' writer announced his next novel, which is to be made into a movie, several names have cropped up over which actress will play the lead role.

Kriti Sanon is one of the actresses whose name is doing the rounds for the lead female role in the screen adaptation of 'Half Girlfriend'.

Alia Bhatt, however tops the list among the actresses being considerd. Even Deepika Padukone's name is doing the rounds for the lead female role.

Mohit Suri will be directing the screen adaptation of 'Half Girlfriend'. Ekta Kapoor will produce the project.

Kriti has got several offers ever since 'Heropanti' has been released. Kriti is a strong contender to play the lead actress in Half Girlfriend, according to media reports.

Chetan Bhagat will release his novel on October 1.
