Vidya Balan has finally admitted that there is a Karamchand connection to her film 'Bobby Jasoos'. The actress says her character in the detective-comedy film is actually inspired by famous detective TV show "Karamchand".

The National Award winning actress says that the word detective became a familiar word in India, because of Karamchand. Her character Bobby (screen name) is inspired by the detective character Karamchand.

However, the 34-year-old actress clarified that her character is not a dedication to Karamchand. Vidya was promoting her upcoming film on the sets of reality show "Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega"when she made the statement.

Co-producer Dia Mirza said that the upcoming film is an independent thought, although "Bobby Jasoos" took some inspiration from "Karamchand" as everyone grew up watching the detective series. That way "Karamchand" is an inspiration, added Mirza.

The film features Vidya Balan and Ali Fazal.

Directed by Samar Shaikh, "Bobby Jasoos" will release across theatres on July 4.
