Deepika Padukone will reportedly play the lead heroine in Karan Johar’s 'Shuddhi'. The role was earlier offered to Kareena Kapoor, with Hrithik Roshan as her co-star. But due to innumerable delays caused by Hrithik's health issues, Kareena backed off. Even Hrithik is not a part of the project.

Howaver, Karan Johar has not made it official that Deepika will play the lead actress role in 'Shuddhi'. We wonder why?

But we are sure that Bebo must be green with envy as this is not the first time that Dippy has replaced her.

Kareena lost out to Deepika on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela'. Then there is 'Bajirao Mastani', where Kareena was once a forerunner to play the lead heronin in SLB's project. Rumours are doing the rounds that Deepika might be doing the film and not Kareena.
