Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor were the original star cast for Karan Johar's 'Shuddhi'. But both backed off and other stars are in the reckoning to play the lead role in Karan Johar's magnum opus.

First it was Duggu, who stepped back due to health issues. Soon Kareena also moved back from the project.

Then there were reports that Ranveer Singh will play the lead role in the film. Rumours were also abuzz that Karan Johar is considering his best friend Shahrukh Khan for the coveted role in 'Shuddhi'.

However, Karan Johar is yet to finalize the star for 'Shuddhi'. Now there are rumours about Hrithik being reconsidered for the ambitious film.

While Ranveer and SRK are in contention for the project, Duggu is also in the race to sign 'Shuddhi', according to media reports. If Hrithik comes onboard, then we hope Kareena also comes back for the film.
