Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal has been summoned by the Mumbai Police for meeting Arun Gawli in January. Rampal playing gangster Gawli role in his movie 'Daddy'. His meeting with the jailed gangster without permission irked the police department and issued a notice after an enquiry.

The JJ Marg police station received information that the actor met Gawli at JJ Hospital last month. Where, Arjun Rampal and Arun Gawli, spent close to an hour with the don in the hospital's Out-patient Department.

Arun Gawli is serving a life term in connection with the murder of corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar in 2008. Gawli was brought to the hospital for a routine check-up and was in judicial custody when he met Rampal.

An internal probe has also been ordered against the team of policemen who had gone with Gawli (escorted) to the hospital from Navi Mumbai's Taloja jail.

Arjun Rampal’s role in Om Shanthi Om, Rock On, Ra One, and Don movies, got critical acclamations for his performance.
