The legendary singer, who gave Indian music a new recognition and doled out a slew of memorable evergreen classics like "Aaja sanam madhur chandani main hum", "Chunari sambhal gori udi chali jaye re", "Zindagi kaisi hai paheli" and "Chalat musafir moh liyo re" - Manna Dey is no more.

The singer passed away of cardiac arrest at the city hospital Narayana Hrudalaya  in Bangalore early morning today. He was 94.

He is survived by two daughters.

The Dada Saheb Phalke award winner wasn’t just an exceptional singer, feted for rendering love songs with male mellifluousness,  but also a man with a strong hold in the world of art and culture.
He will be deeply missed!
