Amid outrage over Aamir Khan's remarks on intolerance, Shatrughan Sinha said he disapproved of India "being labelled intolerant" by Amir and others, besides asserting that India was peace loving inherently.

Actor-politician and BJP lawmaker Shatrughan Sinha said on Twitter that, "Am fond of Aamir Khan & family. But wholeheartedly disapprove of the idea of India being labelled intolerant by him and others too,"

"PK, where Hindu Gods&Goddess were made fun of in no uncertain terms would not have seen such success if India was intolerant," Aamir said in an another tweet.

"Our vast motherland is inherently & essentially peace loving and respectful of every caste, creed, religion and celebrates communal harmony," said Mr Sinha. He has been outspoken in his criticism of party leadership.

Earlier, Mr Khan expressed his "alarm and despondency" in his remarks over the rise in recent incidents of intolerance. It is now hotly debated. Yesterday again, the actor asserted about standing by his comments and has even made clear that neither he nor Kriran Rao, his wife, intend to leave India.
