Mamata Banerjee gets Discharged after Forehead Injury

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) announced on Thursday that Mamata Banerjee, their party leader and the Chief Minister of West Bengal, suffered a "significant injury." This information was shared on the party's social media account, along with a photo displaying Banerjee with the injury. However, Banerjee was discharged and permitted to return home after receiving initial treatment, as tests confirmed that her condition was stable.

Banerjee was admitted to the Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial (SSKM) Hospital in Kolkata. Subsequently, she was transferred to the Bangur Institute of Neurosciences at the IPGME&R – SSKM Hospital Centre in Kolkata for further treatment. The hospital's director also mentioned that doctors provided three stitches on her forehead and an additional one on her nose. "Our chairperson @MamataOfficial sustained a significant injury. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers," the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) wrote in their X post.

Dr. Manimoy Bandopadhyay, the director of SSKM Hospital, stated, "The Chief Minister of West Bengal came to our hospital today at approximately 07:30 pm after experiencing a fall near her residence, apparently due to being pushed from behind. She suffered a cerebral concussion and had a deep cut on her forehead and nose, resulting in profuse bleeding."

The cardiologist from our institute has stabilized the patient. To treat the injuries on her forehead and nose, three stitches were administered and the necessary dressing was applied. Various investigations, such as an ECG and CT scan, were conducted and medical professionals have given their opinions on the matter. Although she was advised to stay in the hospital for observation, she chose to go home. However, she will continue to receive close monitoring and follow the treatment recommended by the team of doctors. On Friday, her condition will be reassessed and further treatment will be determined accordingly," he added.

CV Ananda Bose, the Governor of West Bengal, also made a visit to the hospital. "I personally came here to verify the doctors' claims. They reassured me that everything is being handled properly. The CM is receiving top-notch medical care. The situation is under control," he stated.
