2300 Railway staff worked for 51 hours on Odisha Rail Accident

The tragedy had happened. 288 lives and 900 were injured in the triple train accident in Balasore in Odisha. When comes to rescue operations, how challenging were the situations for the rescue teams? Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishanaw was one among the team to undergo rescue operations at the incident. Just within hours after the accidents, Ashwini Vaishnaw was on the spot. He was monitoring the rescue and relief operations, not only this he was interacting with the media and was giving proper information. He was focused on work and utilized human resources for saving as many lives as they can. Medical assistance was followed up and they also provided helpline numbers.

The teams well organized the medical facilities at the hospitals. Cuttack and Bhubaneswar hospitals were kept on high alert. The team has ensured that every formality was being made on time without any delay. Eight teams were part of the operations, which was led by Ashwini Vaishanaw. 70 members were on the ground. Each Senior Section Engineer (SSE) has two teams and SSE was supervised by DRM and GM Railways. Minister of Railways headquarters was constantly looking at developments in a war room. Four cameras were covering live from the spot. Sunday night the lines were operational again. Only then Railway team had a sign of relief. That is almost after 51 hours of work.
