Bahujan Samaj Party Chief Mayawati on Monday slammed Congress party and rejected their offer not to field candidates in seven seats in Uttar Pradesh in upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

She said their alliance is strong enough to defeat Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh.

In a tweet she said, “The Congress is fully free to put up candidates in all Uttar Pradesh (80) seats, our alliance is strong enough to defeat the BJP. The Congress should not create confusion about any alliance with us.”

She once again made clear that BSP has no alliance with Congress in any state.

“Our supporters should not fall for doubts being created by the Congress,” the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh said.

The statement came a day after Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief Raj Babbar announced that it would not be contesting Mainpuri, Kannauj and the seats from where BSP chief Mayawati and RLD leaders Ajit Singh and Jayant Chaudhary will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party formed an alliance for Lok Sabha elections and decided to contest 38 and 37 seats respectively, and left out seats to Ajit Singh’s Rastriya Lok Dal.

However, alliance partners decided not to field their candidates in Amethi and Raebareli which are currently held Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
