Indians are believed to be plucky and this incident has made it better evident.

An 11-year-old Indian origin boy hailed a hero as he saves the life of a 34-year-old man, who was found at the bottom of an indoor pool in Minnesota Apartment complex. At the time police officers reached the place around 7:25 p.m. on December 30 only to find the man lying unconscious on the floor.

According to officers, the man was in the shallow end and reached the deep end, he then went underwater and didn't resurface. They further said that the only person in the pool at that time, who knew swimming was Advaik Nandikotkur.

The young boy jumped into the pool and pulled the man's hand to take him to the edge, from where all the adults pulled him out. The man was then taken to the nearby hospital.

"He just jumped into action and jumped in and saved a guy who was drowning, and literally saved his life," said Eagan Police Officer Aaron Machtemes.

Advaik has been taking swimming lessons since his family moved to the United States from India in 2015.

"Mom said to jump in. I said he's probably too heavy but I jumped in anyway," Advaik said.

"He's very calm about it. Just matter of fact. He did what he needed to do. And I think that's really cool that he's just like, yep, I did it," Officer Machtemes said.
