The Congress headquarters in New Delhi witnessed a scenes of celebration as the party looked geared up to form government in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

The Congress workers arrived at the party office in sizable numbers, burst crackers and danced to the tune of drum beats to celebrate the party's bang-up show in the crucial assembly elections.

The Congress office was abuzz with activity as party workers carrying the organization flag jam-packed the precincts and media persons were attendant in large numbers to get reactions from party leaders.

"The countdown of the BJP government at the Centre has begun. The election results clearly show that the Congress under the leadership of Rahulji will form the next government at the Centre," said Poonam Sharma, a party worker from East Delhi.

Leaders, however, were cautious in their comments as they waited for the situation to become clear in Madhya Pradesh, where the Congress was locked in a neck-and-neck contest in Madhya Pradesh.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi, when asked for their reaction to the election results, said one should wait for the situation to become more clear.

Rahul is expected to address a press conference at the party headquarters after the Madhya Pradesh verdict gained some conclusiveness.
