The TDP’s vote for note scam is developing interesting turns every passing day. Just one day after Telugu Desam Party slapped multiple FIRS’ of defamation and illegal phone tapping on Telangana Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday morning raided the residence of Telangana TDP lawmaker Revanth Reddy and two others in Hyderabad in connection with the note-for-vote scam.

TDP Telangana MLA Revanth Reddy was caught while allegedly trying to bribe a nominated MLA to vote for his party's nominee in Telangana Legislative Council polls. He has been arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody in cash-for-vote scam.

Both leaders exchanged war of words yesterday evening while Chandrababu Naidu fires on KCR for conspiring against him and KCR retaliates with a stern warning to Chandrababu.

Chandrababu Naidu has convened an emergency meeting of his cabinet in the city on Tuesday morning. Sources said the cabinet will pass a resolution seeking the immediate operationalisation of Section 8 of the AP Reorganization Act that defines the powers related to law and order in the joint capital region, which is vested with Governor ESL Narasimhan.

On the other hand, YSR Congress is holding statewide protests on Tuesday against Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam party on note-for-vote scandal.

The big question now is whether the ACB that registered the case against TDP legislator Revanth Reddy will issue notice to Chandrababu Naidu and call him in for questioning.

TDP leader in Telangana R Chandrasekhar says the audio tape is concocted. “We are denying that. But even assuming it to be true, nowhere money is mentioned, nowhere names are mentioned and nowhere election process is mentioned. It is the handiwork of the TRS party”, says Chandrasekhar.

The Congress has said Mr Naidu must quit if the tapes are proved to be genuine whereas the BJP has been wary of taking a stand.

But what will their legal and political strategy be for damage control is not yet clear.
