Polling is underway in nine Lok Sabha constituencies in Madhya Pradesh today. As the state votes an interesting fact has been revealed about AAP candidates contesting elections from MP.

Almost 30 % of AAP candidates in Madhya Pradesh, who will contest elections on April 17, have been found to be billionaires. And surprisingly 40 % of the AAP candidates have criminal records against them.

The Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) and MP Election Watch (MPEW) has revealed this information after conducting an analysis of candidates in the Lok Sabha elections.

Ten constituencies in Madhya Pradesh will go into polls on April 17. The constituencies include Gwalior, Morena, Bhopal, Bhind, Rajgarh, Guna, Sagar, Damoh, Tikamgarh and Khajuraho.

Interestingly, all the 10 Congress candidates from MP are billionaires. Besides eight BJP candidates out of 10, four BSP nominees out of 10 and three Samajwadi Party candidates out of six in fray are billionaires.

When it comes to criminal records, four out of ten Congress and BSP nominees have cases against them. While BJP has three candidates with criminal records out of 10.

Today's polling will see people in Madhya Pradesh voting for 118 candidates in the Lok Sabha elections 2014. More than 11 million voters will choose their representative for nine constituencies which includes Jabalpur, Chhindwara, Satna, Hoshangabad, Rewa, Shahdol, Balaghat, Mandla and Sidhi.
