Not just rape, abuse and gun battles, even racial discrimination is fast trending as another addition to Delhi's burgeoning crime profile.

The tragic death of the teen student from Arunachal Pradesh, Nido Taniem was nothing but a part of Delhi's inherent and rampant racial delinquency. And this wasn't the first case, nor was it meant to be the last.

Another case of blatant racism was reported in the national capital on Sunday when two Manipuri youths were beaten up by a group of bikers in the Ambedkar Nagar area in South Delhi. Just like Nido's case, the two youth resented the racial slurs made on them and got into an altercation.

The two boys were teased by passers-by as "chinki" and "Nepali". When they boys resented the racial remark, they were attacked and beaten up with wooden sticks. One of the victims, 24-year-old Gin Khan Suan Naulak, was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in a serious condition. His 25-year-old cousin Vungh Suan Mung Naulak is stable and has been discharged from hospital.

Two juveniles have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the case and are likely to undergo a test identification parade today.

"They were returning home from the market. At a cigarette shop, two men passed remarks at them which they opposed. Following an argument, my friends decided to leave the place," one of their friends told the police.

"But when they were on their way, a group of men, including the two men who had passed the remarks, attacked them and fled," he added.

After the attack, the victims went to the hospital and informed police. Gin Khan Suan Naulak, who works in a private firm, revealed that the attackers did not rob him nor his cousin.

A probe has been launched on the case and police are hopeful of nabbing the guilty soon.
