Narendra Modi, prime ministerial candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) has been shortlisted as a candidate for Time magazine's, ' Person of the Year' title for 2013. According to reports, Modi emerged as a favourite among netizens in an online poll.
Other shortlisted candidates are US President Barack Obama, Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, teenaged activist Malala Yousafzai, whistleblower Edward Snowden and even Britain's Prince George. So far, 42 global leaders, celebrities and entrepreneurs have been shortlisted by Time for the 'Person of the Year 2013'. The winner will be announced next month.
