A 20-year-old woman trapped in a toddler's body passed away last week.

Though Brooke Greenberg was born in 1993,  she looked and behaved like a 9-month-old toddler.

Medical science has failed to offer any plausible explanation for her rather curious disorder. She was examined by doctors of some of the most prestigious medical institutions in the U.S., but none could make a formal diagnosis of her condition. Some opined that she suffered from a gene mutation that shunned her ability to mature beyond a certain age, forever. The doctors labeled it as Syndrome X.

'While the outside world may have noticed Brooke’s physical stature and been puzzled by her unique development state, she brought joy and love to her family,' Rabbi Andrew Busch said during his eulogy.

'Her parents, three sisters and extended family showered her with love and respected her dignity throughout her entire life.'

In January of this year, Brooke and her family- including her 17-year-old sister- made an appearance on a talk show where they revealed how despite being 20-year-old, she was unable to talk, had her baby teeth on and traveled around in a push chair — but doctors have never been able to explain why.

The reason of her death has been kept under wraps.
