With several major rivers like like Budhabalanga and Subarnarekha in spate, both the districts are heavily deluged. Over  2.5 lakh people have been marooned in Balasore district in Odisha alone.

Even Bhadrak district is facing the flood fury with Ganjam district being the the worst hit by the cyclone.

Army, Navy, IAF, NDRF and ODRAF squads have been deployed for rescue and relief operations.

The death toll has gone up to 27 with four people being  dying n the floods in Mayurbanj and Bhadrak districts. Phailin has dissipated, but the torrential rains and floods has paved way for new concerns, a minister from Odisha said.
