Google has never shied away from pushing the envelope in the past. Nor is it scared of blazing the trail now!

In a bid to connect people to the Internet more easily and effectively and sans the distractions and rude interruptions of a smartphone, Google has come up with an Internet watch that will function on the lines of a smartphone, minus the obstructions.

Google is eyeing to launch a new revolution, a new era in mobile computing by inserting a version of its Android software into hi-tech watches and other wearable devices.

The "Android Wear" operating system, released on Tuesday, is a modified version of Google's most popular software that is the driving force behind 1 billion smartphones and tablets in the world. The new software will now power the smartwatches which will hit the markets next year.

The Android watches will be less conspicuous - and perhaps less obnoxious - than Google Glass, the high-tech headwear that includes a small camera and thumbnail-sized display screen attach to frames that look like a pair of spectacles, we hope.
