The Davis Cup World Group play-off clash at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association courts turned out to be all about heights.

The Serbians - Dusan Lajovic and Filip Krajinovic dominated over India with a 2-0 lead.

The light-eyed Lajovic, ranked 61 in the world, mixed power with persistence to beat the 151-ranked Yuki Bhambri 6-3, 6-2, 7-5 in the first match of the play-off. In the second singles, 22-year-old Krajinovic, playing his first live rubber in Cup play, scored a 6-1, 46, 6-3, 6-2 win over the India No.1 Somdev Devvarman, ranked 143.

Somdev, however, fell weak in the eighth game as the two settled into trading backhands and forehands from the back of the court. The US-based pro, however, bounced right back, breaking in the ninth game before serving out the set in the tenth, giving the hosts their first and only set on the day.
