Yes, Andy Murray has done it again! The Wimbledon hero caps of this monumental year by scooping the prestigious 2013 Sportsman of the Year award given by Sports Journalists' Association.

Adjudged a winner by sports writers, broadcasters, editors and photographers, Murray was felicitated with the top prize at a ceremony in the Tower of London.

British athlete Christine Ohuruogu was named as Sportswoman of the Year while Warren Gatland bagged the trophy for 2013 Team of the Year which went to his British and Irish Lions side.


Murray outran double gold medalist Mo Farah, Tour de France champion Chris Froome, 4,000-winner jockey Tony McCoy, US Open winner Justin Rose and sailing icon Ben Ainslie to cinch the award.

Aled Davies was named the Paralympic Sportsman of the Year for his discus and shot put heroics World Championships in Lyon, while Hannah Cockroft picked up the Paralympic Sportswoman of the Year award.
