From being a tennis ace to an astute coach to a savvy businesswoman - tennis sensation Sania Mirza has taken rapid strides in her career so far. And currently, she is making waves in what is an altogether new front for her - acting. The bold and beautiful tennis star is all set to don a new role, that of an actress, but for a purpose.

After the infamous abduction and rape of a 22-year-old techie as well as rape of two other minors that rattled the denizens, Cyberabad police have roped in the tennis star to feature in a short film to spread awareness.

Cyberabad police sources say that the short film, a joint venture of the city police and some IT companies, will also star some Tollywood actors. The film would be on the 'Dos and Don'ts' for women when someone misbehaves or takes them for a ride. 'It will also reveal the measures to be taken to have safe transport and the way to avoid getting into trouble. The film would be screened at theatres, IT companies and other media channels'.

When contacted, Cyberabad commissioner CV Anand was extremely guarded about the role of Sania Mirza and only said production work was on. "At this juncture, I cannot tell you as the production work is going on and it is a matter of a few days before it will be complete and ready for launch,'' Anand said. It is not clear whether the popular personalities likely to feature in the short film are doing it as their bit for social responsibility or for a price.

Sania Mirza was unavailable for a comment too.
