Vaibhav Pandya, the step brother of Indian cricketers Hardik and Krunal Pandya, has been apprehended by the Mumbai Police for allegedly defrauding them of approximately Rs 4.3 crore. Reports indicate that Vaibhav redirected the funds from their joint business, resulting in a financial loss for Hardik and Krunal. The trio had established a company in 2021, with Hardik and Krunal entitled to 40% of the profits each, while Vaibhav would receive 20%. However, instead of distributing the profits as agreed, Vaibhav created a separate entity and diverted the funds into it. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai police has charged Vaibhav with fraud and forgery.

It is worth mentioning that Hardik lodged a complaint against the 37-year-old, leading to his arrest. Meanwhile, Hardik has been making headlines recently after being appointed as the captain of the Mumbai Indians, replacing Rohit Sharma. However, this decision has not been well-received by fans, resulting in some backlash directed towards Hardik.

MI had a dreadful beginning, losing their first three matches. However, there was a sigh of relief for Hardik as the team managed to win their last game against Delhi Capitals. With doubts creeping in after a series of defeats, Hardik acknowledged the need to clear many minds before the Delhi match. As a result, MI secured 2 points on the league standings, marking their first victory of the campaign. During the post-match presentation, Hardik openly acknowledged the extensive effort put in behind the scenes in the dressing room to achieve this milestone.
