With less than a month to go for the 2014 FIFA World Cup now, fans across the world are gearing up in support of soccer's greatest event that kicks off on June 12, 2014in Brazil.

In India, Bollywood actor-producer and a self-confessed football fanatic, John Abraham has been roped in to draw the buzz.

Sports and entertainment channel Sony Six, which is in charge of 2014 FIFA World Cup marketing campaign in India has gone ahead and roped in John to create the hype.

John Abraham will slip into Brazil team's jersey for the campaign so as to raise maximum awareness and buzz on football's biggest international tournament in home turf India.

For all who didn't know, John Abraham is the co-owner of the Indian Football League 's Guwahati franchise.

“It is a known fact that John shares a great deal of love and passion for the sport and it is through this partnership that we would like to build anticipation for the upcoming FIFA event,” the channel said in a release today.

The actor is likely to be joined by some football stars from England, France, Portugal and France for the 20th FIFA World Cup campaign that is scheduled to take place from June 12 to July 13 this year.

If you may remember, John had previously starred in the football flick “Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal”. Not just that, he has also future plans of releasing a film on football. With so much on football going around him, it makes sense why Sony cherry-picked the star for the big campaign.
