PCB Chief Shahryar Khan has said that in past few years Pakistan cricket survived without playing India and will continue to survive even if BCCI holds back the series actually schedule to be held in December in the UAE.

A MoU was signed by PCB and BCCI for six cricket series between 2015 and 2023. PCB is awaiting response from the Indian Cricket board's response to its letter written last week questing to honor the 'binding agreement'.

The former diplomat Khan said, "Well, it depends on your government. Your board has signed an agreement with us that we will play in December. They said we will have to get permission from the government. We have written to the BCCI, asking them honour the agreement. We are not running after them. We are just saying you have signed something so please honour your signature.”

Often PCB faced criticism at home to reaching out again and again to BCCI for resumption of cricket ties. Javed Miandad also said that ‘PCB must not play with India at the cost of self-respect’.

Khan who again retreated that sports and politics are not supposed to interfere each other, made it clear that Pak Cricket will survive irrespective of series with India.

The 81-year-old said, "Suppose for political reasons, the Indian government decides against playing Pakistan, it doesn't mean we will go bankrupt. We will survive. If we have survived without India-Pakistan cricket for the last so many years, we will continue to survive. Yes, it will be a setback but that is about it.”

"The India-Pakistan series is the most watched event in the sporting world. You can't deprive the fans from both sides from watching their cricketers," he added.
