Icons of Indian cricket like Sachin Tendulkar and Virendra Sehwag have been nominated for 'ESPNcricinfo@20 Cricketer of the Generation' award.

ESPN has introduced two new categories to the already existing six this year - Cricketer of the Generation and Contribution to Cricket.

Apart from Tendulkar and Sehwag, West Indian Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan of Sri Lanka, Australia's Shane Warne and South African Jacques Kallis will fight for the recognition.

A 50-member jury of current and former cricketers and leading sportswriters will pick the winners.

The winner of the 'Contribution to Cricket' award will be nominated by ex Indian captain Rahul Dravid.

This particular ward will consider contributions around the cricket ecosystem, from pitch curators to groundsmen and grassroots organizers,anybody who has contributed positively to the game.

The awards will be conferred on March 14 in Mumbai.
