Retired Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has been robbed off of millions of cash and how.

Apparently, Kolkata police have detained a 28-year-old suspect, who is believed to have siphoned off millions of cash ($16,000) from VVS Laxman's bank account.

Laxman had filed a police complaint with the Hyderabad police during the weekend after getting a text alert from the bank on the transaction.

The deputy commissioner of police in Salt Lake, Kolkata, nabbed the suspect last Saturday. Investigations and initial interrogation revealed that the money was deposited in the suspect's bank registered in the name of a fictitious company.

"Police are yet to know how he gained access to Laxman's account," said Arnab Ghosh.

The suspect has been sent to Hyderabad, Laxman's home town, for further trial.

Laxman, who retired from all forms of cricket in 2012, is best known for his majestic career innings, scoring 8,781 runs at an average of 45.97 with 17 centuries and 56 fifties.
