How to set up A Romantic bath

Romance is the essential ingredient in every relationship, and unfortunately, it's the one we tend to neglect most. Couples settle into comfortable routines and assume that their partners simply "know" they are loved. But it's important to say it and show it. Make your significant other feel appreciated and pampered, while soothing sore muscles, lowering stress levels, and sharing quality time together.

1.Cleaning the bathroom beforehand is key for safety reasons as well as aesthetic purposes. Unplug and remove any electrical tools/appliances such as blow dryers and electric razors. Scrub the bathtub to remove any grime or mold and make sure it is a sanitary place to pass some bubble-bath-filled time. Hide any dirty towels and move the shampoos, conditioners and other bottles out of sight.

2 Run the water with some bath salts and oils. Chamomile and lavender are especially relaxing. Make sure you don't draw the water too early, so it doesn't get cold. You can get creative and throw flower petals in the water, and add bubbles or bath beads. Just make it smell and look appealing. Use products that are thoughtful and may jog a memory or particular sensation for your partner.

3 Place candles in safe spots around the bathroom to set the lighting. You might want to turn off electrical light all together. You can buy aromatherapy candles, or just regular ones to provide a dim and intimate atmosphere.

4 Position the bath pillow in the tub in an appropriate place. It is an extremely considerate gesture and will help your partner ease any neck or back strain he may experience while sitting against the ceramic edge of the tub.

5 Pour some sparkling wine or champagne, or even sparkling water or cider, into flutes to make it even more luxurious and indulgent.

6 Play some music, whether it's a song you two have slow-danced to, or just something soothing to help you both unwind. Music is therapeutic and there may certain songs that you and your partner associate with positive experiences.

7 Prepare soft, plush towels and bathrobes for when you get out of the tub to maintain that pampering and relaxing atmosphere.
