Forget the green, it's time to go white! Health experts are going gaga over the benefits of white tea now. Although, derived from the same plant as green, experts claim that white tea has greater health benefits than it's jaded counterpart. So what is white tea exactly and how different it is from the green favorite?

White tea, unlike the green, is extracted from the first flush buds grown only. The tea is not white in color, but gets its name due from the silver-hued, white hair-like picked tea bud. In reality, the beverage is pale yellow in color.

The white tea is plucked in a very short time. It's taken from unopened buds of tea shoots which are withered and dried under special conditions. Just because it entail such a complicated process pf production and is produced in very small quantities, it's expensive. Let's delve into the health benefits of white tea:

The tea draws all its goodness from flavonoids that is known to improve vascular health that prevents heart diseases. White tea also helps in weight management and is good for skin too.
