M Karunanidhi, Chennai-DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) President and a former Tamil Nadu chief minister was shifted to Kauvery Hospital in the early hours of Saturday after his blood pressure dropped. His condition is now stable. Crowds have gathered in large numbers outside his residence as well as the hospital.

According to a health bulletin from the hospital, Karunanidhi's blood pressure has been stabilized with medical management and he is being monitored and treated by a panel of expert doctors.

The 94-year-old is being monitored round the clock by a team of medical experts.

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit arrived at Kauvery Hospital to visit DMK Chief.

Karunanidhi's daughter, Muthuvel Kanmozhi says, "He is better. His blood pressure has stabilized: DMK leader Kanimozhi on DMK President M Karunanidhi's health condition."
