US: '43% increase in Visas to Indian Students

There has been a 43 per cent increase in visas isssued by the US last year for Indian students, said an official at the US consulate.

At a meeting organised by a private firm at Vadodara, Jesse Walter, the US vice-consul, Mumbai gave a presentation on visa procedures on Tuesday. The presentation was related to B1 and B2 visas and F1 visas that are of concern to students and industry. Walter, during the presentation, said that last year 6,00,000 visas had been granted by the US embassy in India, according to reports.
