The passport seva mobile application introduced by Ministry of External Affairs, which permits app users to apply for a travel document from anyplace in the country, has enrolled one million downloads in just two days of its set up on June 26.

The application was launched by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, available in both Android and iOS platforms, on Tuesday with facilities for applying, paying and planning appointments for acquiring a passport.

"Passport Seva mobile App launched recently by the Ministry of External Affairs recently has already registered 1 million downloads," Swaraj tweeted today.

It was launched along with a plan of action under which a person can apply for a passport from anywhere in India regardless of the place of residence.

With the help of 'mPassport Seva App', an app user can now do not necessarily need access to a computer and printer to apply for a passport, the MEA said during the launch of the application.
