Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his open-heart surgery to be held in the UK on next week.

Modi tweeted that, "My best wishes to PM Nawaz Sharif Sahab for his open heart surgery on Tuesday. And for his speedy recovery & good health."

Nawaz Sharif will undergo an open-heart surgery in the UK, Khawaja Asif, defence minister had said.

"The prime minister will travel after one week, on doctor's permission," he added.

Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of Sharif,  had confirmed on twitter that her father will undergo an open-heart surgery by next week.
