Jack Huston may play the title role in the remake of 1959 film 'Ben-Hur'. Huston is in talks to star in Paramount and MGM's Ben-Hur remake.

If the negotiation sticks then Jack Huston will play the epic role made famous by Charlton Heston in the original Ben-Hur.

However, the deal is yet to be finalized and can still fall apart, according to the film makers.

Timur Bekmambetov will direct the project, shooting for which will start next year in Europe.

Morgan Freeman is already on board the film. He will play the role of Ildarin, who teaches Ben-Hur the finer points of chariot racing.

John Ridley has rewritten the script for 'Ben-Hur' remake. Keith Clarke had written the script for the 1959 movie.

'Ben-Hur' was released in 1959. William Wyler had directed 'Ben-Hur' starring Charlton Heston in the title role. The film went on to win 11 Oscars, which included the best picture.
