Ingredients

6 teabags

6 cups hot simmering water

1 small seedless watermelon cut into slices

½ cup granulated sugar

½ cup water

½ cup fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced

3 limes, juiced

Instructions

In a pitcher, take six cups of water, place the teabags and simmer for sometime. Turn off the flame and let it steep for about 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how strong you want your iced tea to be. Remove the teabags and let the tea cool down to room temperature. Now refrigerate for an hour.

Process the watermelon slices in a blender until smooth. Strain through a sieve and keep the juice aside.

In a pan, combine ½ cup sugar and ½ cup water and cook over medium-high heat until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat, stir in the basil and allow it to cool down completely.
To make the tea, add 3 cups watermelon juice to the chilled tea followed by basil syrup and fresh lime juice. Stir.

Serve with lots of ice in tall glasses.
