Maverick director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati landed into troubles after the film has been struck into a series of controversies. A bunch of Rajput groups and communities protested against the film and want the film not to release anytime soon. Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh played the lead roles in Padmavati which has been made on a massive budget and is based on the life story of Rani Padmini, the warrior queen. Padmavati has been initially slated for December 1st release.
Now the film is yet to clear the censor formalities and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) kept the film on hold. The makers too applied that the film has been based on historic facts and the CBFC will clear the censor formalities only next month. With over 40 films in queue for censor scrutiny, Padmavati is expected to get its censor clearance during the mid of January 2018. The makers will then finalize the release date of Padmavati. If the film wraps up all the censor formalities in January, the movie will hit the screens during March informed the makers.
Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Padmavati has been carrying massive expectations. The theatrical trailer has been a smashing hit.
